I am so thrilled and surprised to have won the Mundane Wheel Challenge this week. Having just discovered I am the winner I think I am off to a late start. I will fumble my way through hosting this fun event and hope everyone will enjoy it.
The mundane item for this week is MAILBOX. With so many members from different countries and cultures I am excited to see what we come up with. "Snail Mail" seems to be fading from many of our cultures so it might be a bigger challenge then you thought.
You are free to use any photographic technique you would like to use to capture this mundane object.
"The only rule is that there can be no question that the item in the challenge is the star"
Based on the last challenge I believe the starting date should be Saturday (Jan 25th...today) and runs through to the end of Sunday Feb 2nd (EST)
The finalists will be announced on Monday Feb 3rd(EST) for voting. The winner will be announced on Thursday Feb 6th (EST) 2014.
Please tag your entries mundane-mailbox.
Your entry must be taken within the challenge time frame to be considered as a finalist.
Feel free to post your entries on this thread as well to inspire others.
The following is a list of objects so far used for this challenge: toothbrush, screwdriver, veggie peeler, bar of soap, scissors, electric plug, paper clip, jar, language, cardboard, toothpick, hex key, hair comb, screw, button, key, coin, ballpoint pen, shoe, glass, plastic bag, hair, books, lightbulb, toilet paper, envelopes, door handle, tea bag, broom, tin can, egg(s), shoelaces, clothes peg/pin, wheel.
As someone in urban UK - do you mean the definition of a mailbox for this challenge?
"a box into which mail is delivered, especially one mounted on a post at the entrance to a person's property."
Because they are rare where I am and where I work. I'd have to go looking for one.
@shannejw Oh.....anything that mail is delivered to...mail slot, letter box, PO box's, ANYTHING...that is what will make it so much more fun. Thanks for bringing that up. Thanks so much!!
